Re: Queue Weekly Status 2010-02-12

Looking great: update queue almost smaller than one week. The next step is to monitor the update queue in # of days?
By the way, number of nominations is larger than updates, so the stream of new extensions is greater than of updating existing ones?
May be there needs to done some analysis about this large stream of new extensions, possibly there a lot of 'extensions' that are just copies of something else, or something that could be better done using something like Jetpack, Stylish or GreaseMonkey?

Yes, I think it's almost time to change the scale we use to measure updates. I'll probably start doing that after March 1st, in order to have at least 2 rows in the table using the new scale.

Regarding the nomination count, there are many add-ons that are created and almost never updated. One case that may be affecting the numbers significantly is Search Engines. They are almost never updated and tend to be very numerous.

We don't reject add-ons on the basis of them being implementable under other add-on systems. The author is free to choose how to implement an add-on, even if it's not the simplest of ways.
